How Our Jewellery Evaluation Works

Three ways to arrange a gold filled jewellery evaluation. Whichever you choose, we explain what we find and you decide whether to accept an offer.

Path 1

Appointment

Bring your jewellery to an evaluation appointment. Ideal if you’re in our service area and want to talk through items in person.

    Send an appointment request

    Choose a preferred date and time, tell us about your items and add photos if you can.

    We confirm your appointment

    We contact you by your preferred method to confirm. Your appointment isn’t confirmed until you hear from us.

    Bring your jewellery

    Bring everything you’d like assessed. Photo ID may be required if you decide to sell.

  4. 4

    Evaluation and offer

    We check construction, marks and weight, explain what we find and make an offer. You decide whether to accept.

Postal Evaluation

Too far away? Submit details and photos online. We review them first and only then send posting instructions.

    Tell us what you have, its approximate weight and upload clear photos including hallmark close-ups.

    We review your submission

    We let you know whether your items look suitable for evaluation.

    Receive posting instructions

    We email instructions and the correct delivery address. Please don’t post anything before this.

    For security, the delivery address is only provided after your submission has been reviewed.

    Post your items securely

    Use a tracked service, pack items securely and include your reference number.

  5. 5

    Assessment and offer

    We confirm arrival, assess your items and send an offer, which you’re free to accept or decline.

50g+ On-Site Request

Have approximately 50 grams or more of eligible jewellery? You can ask us to come to you, subject to location and availability.

    A kitchen scale is fine for an estimate. On-site visits are for approximately 50g or more.

    Choose “Request you come to me”, add your suburb, preferred times and photos.

    We confirm location and time

    We review your request and confirm whether a visit is possible for your area.

    Evaluation at your location

    We assess your items on-site, explain our findings and make an offer.

Evaluation & payment

How Your Offer Is Worked Out

Offers reflect each item’s actual recoverable precious metal content — not just its total weight.

Construction

Gold filled, rolled gold and heavy plate contain different amounts of gold.

Hallmark

Fractions and karats (e.g. 1/20 12K) indicate the stated gold layer.

Weight

Weighed precisely. Stones, glass and springs contain no gold.

Market pricing

Relevant precious metal pricing at the time of assessment.

If you accept an offer, payment is usually made by bank transfer; other options can be discussed. When you sell, we’ll ask for photo ID (such as a driver licence or passport) and a signed statement that the items are yours.

Held securely for 14 days. As NSW second-hand dealer laws require, every item we purchase is recorded and kept securely for 14 days before it goes on to be processed and refined.
